Story 1: Never Talk to a stranger in a cemetery

Years ago, a few friends and I went to hang out in a graveyard. Stupid thing to do for a bunch of bored 18 year olds on a weekday night but what happened next was very real to all of our experiences.

We were driving my friend’s really old beat up Subaru through a massive graveyard.

We stopped and walked down a hill and came across a little pond.

There was someone sitting on a rock on the other side of the pond.

The figure was all black and we couldn’t make out any features other than the fact it looked like a man who was wearing some old-style top hat.

We stupidly waved and shouted “Hi!”.

He didn’t show any acknowledgement and continued sitting still on the rock.

All of a sudden, he jumped to his feet, started running to us on the water and then vanished in thin water about halfway on the pond.

My friends and I screamed and ran back to the car.

The car wouldn’t start, and we heard something banging on the back of the car.

It wasn’t a constant bang, but every few seconds or so we’d hear it.

Nobody was outside from what we could see in the dark, but something was making a noise on the car.

I opened my phone and started dialing my mom to come give us a boost, but I had no service.

None of us had any cell service. The next 30 minutes were spent trying to get her car started. No banging was heard afterwards, but we felt this heavy pressure around us.

Finally, the car started and she hit the pedal to the metal. We sped out of the graveyard so fast. Immediately crossing the gates, all of our phones regained cell service. One thing I know for certain is that someone or something was out there, and it was not an animal or a human.

Story 2: The Enigmatic Visitor at the Cemetery Gate

When I was in college, I worked part-time at a Jewish cemetery in the suburbs of New Jersey. I was responsible for reception and office management, which involved processing bills and checks. The cemetery was closed from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening for the Sabbath, and we would sometimes stay a bit later in the office on Friday afternoons to complete our work.

One Friday, we heard a loud commotion by the cemetery entrance, which was locked, and only staff could enter or exit. The office manager and I decided to investigate the noise. We walked down to the gate and found an older woman, dressed to the nines, begging us to let her in. She kept saying that she needed to get back, but we didn’t see any car or means of transportation nearby.

Since we couldn’t open the gate without the Cemetery Manager’s permission, we went to find him. When we brought him back to the gate, no one was there. We reviewed the video footage of the entrance, and it showed us talking, but there was no one on the other side of the gate. The Cemetery Manager thought we were trying to trick him, but we swore to him that we saw an older woman dressed in a beautiful dress outside the gate.

Despite our insistence, the security cameras didn’t pick up anyone on the other side of the gate, and all they captured was us. It was a strange and eerie experience, and we couldn’t explain what we saw. We wondered if it was a ghost or some kind of strange occurrence.

In the end, the office manager and I decided not to tell anyone else about what we saw. However, we would occasionally mention it to each other, wondering if we had really seen a ghost that day. The mysterious incident left us with a lasting impression and a sense of unease whenever we worked late on Friday afternoons.

Story 3: Midnight Encounter: The Mysterious Passenger of the Haunted Cemetery

In my mid-twenties, I used to live very close to a romoured haunted cemetery, and going home at night always creep me out. I had heard strange encounters in that cemetery and I’ve also read lots of cemetery horror stories, so whenever I stayed out late, I would rather look for somewhere else to pass the night than go home.

Once, I had a midnight flight to catch, so I prepared everything I needed and left for my friend Joe’s place around 6 PM. He lived closer to the airport, and I hadn’t seen him in a long time, so I decided to spend some time with him. We gisted, played games, and had fun until 9:45 PM when I realized I left my tablet, which was crucial for the presentation I was going to make. I felt terrible for making such a mistake, but my friend Joe offered to drive me home to get it.

We started the 40-minute journey, and just ten minutes into it, we saw a stragely dressed man standing by the road, waving us to stop and like we were enchanted , We stopped despite the urget situation. he reqested a ride and we obliged since he was going our way.

The journey was a quiet one, and no one spoke. We asked the stranger his exact stop, but he didn’t reply; he just had this blank expression that gave off a creepy vibe. I was so scared, and I could feel my friend’s fear too. Having a stranger sit at the back seat wasn’t a good Idea.

As we were going through the woods, approaching the cemetery, the strange man told us he was going to stop by the woods before the cemetery. I felt chills all over my body, as we dropped him off. He walked into the woods without saying a word, then looked back, smiled, and continued walking. We were shocked and couldn’t tell what was going on.

We continued our journey, only for the car to start jerking and finally stopped right in front of the hunted cemetery. We tried all we could, but the car wouldn’t start. I was scared and worried I might miss my flight. We opened the bonnet of the car and tried what we knew, but our knowledge about cars was limited.

Just then, we heard movements from the cemetery. We looked into the darkness as a dark figure approached us. I wanted to run, but I felt weak in my legs. We stood there looking, and to our greatest surprise, it was the same man we dropped off a few minutes ago. He looked at us and gave a creepy smile. He walked straight to the bonnet, touched something, and signaled Joe to try starting the car again. This time, it started up. We thanked him, but he said nothing and stood there as he watched us go.

We kept looking back until he was out of sight, and at this point, goosebumps covered my body. The rest of the journey to my house and back to Joe’s house was silent. It felt like we were enchanted. I was able to catch my flight, but I still had many unanswered questions regarding who that man was, what he was looking for in the haunted graveyard that late at night, how he got there through the woods, and if he was truely human.
